This professional development opportunity gives counselors and admission officers—through professional track and joint sessions--the necessary foundational skills and basic knowledge to more effectively recruit, counsel, and advise international students wishing to pursue undergraduate study in the United States.  This workshop seeks a balance of professionals to enable participants to enhance their network in support of these students.

Topics to include:

  • International student enrollment trends and industry challenges
  • Working with international students and families
  • Outreach and communication strategies
  • Immigration basics
  • English language and standardized testing
  • Financial matters
  • Foreign credential evaluation

Audience:                     

1) High school counselors and independent educational consultants working with international students wishing to pursue undergraduate study in the United States, and looking to gain basic to intermediate skills.

2) US college and university admission officials working with international students at US high schools or abroad, and looking to gain basic to intermediate skills.
