Politics, Government, and the University:  Challenges and Changes in 2020

How can state and local government be a partner with higher education as we navigate the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and nationwide reckoning with racial injustice?  Set against the backdrop of an especially contentious presidential election year, elected and appointed leaders will examine how they can work with colleges to solve some of the biggest challenges brought by the current crisis.  Featuring Mayor Tim Sandoval of Pomona, California and DeAngela Burns-Wallace, secretary of administration and chief information technology officer for the state of Kansas.The panel will be moderated by Kim Clark of the Education Writers Association.
