C11. Cutting through a Crisis: Guiding Prospective Students and Families during Times of Unrest

Friday, September 15, 2017

10:15 AM to 11:30 AM

institutions.  Some attribute perceived declines to the national attention that focused on social justice issues related to civil unrest in Ferguson, MO.  However, without sound data to substantiate these claims, it is difficult to surmise the effect these events had on admission. Panelists will review available data from Missouri institutions, and hear how counselors and administrators handled poignant questions from prospective students and their parents at Saint Louis University (SLU) during the Occupy SLU movement.
