NACAC President Jayne Caflin Fonash offers highlights from a most eventful year in the association’s history – from the conclusion of the Department of Justice investigation to the selection of a new CEO – and bestows our most prestigious honors on three high-achieving, inspirational NACAC members and institutions. Todd Rinehart accepts the gavel and begins his term as our president for 2020-2021.
Our Featured Speaker, Dr. Michael J. Sorrell is the longest-serving president in the 148-year history of Paul Quinn College, an HBCU located in Dallas, Texas. During his 13 years of leadership, the college has inspired a national movement for its efforts to remake higher education in order to serve the needs of under-resourced students and communities. Dr. Sorrell has shared with many audiences his powerful and inspiring story about his success in transforming Paul Quinn College. His closing keynote will update that story for 2020 – discussing what it means to lead in the time of the coronavirus and the summer of protest. What has been the impact on his students and his campus? Are there opportunities to be found in the current crisis? What gives him hope?
