Professor Shaun Harper, executive director of the University of Southern California's Race & Equity Center, served as the keynote speaker at NACAC's 2017 National Conference in Boston. View the full speech and read NACAC CEO Joyce Smith's reflections on Harper's message.
The NACAC National Conference is a vital time for me to continue to develop as a professional as there is always more to learn and things in admission can change quickly. The opportunity to network with other college counselors and admission representatives is unmatched at any other event throughout the year.
Attending the NACAC National Conference has been a valuable opportunity for me to listen, discuss and present on national and international topics that affect the work of supporting students in the transition from secondary school to higher education. Engaging in important conversations about enrollment management, inclusion, special populations, counseling successes and tensions, new trends and products all support my work and personal professional development.
Attending the NACAC conference is the absolute highlight of my year. The connections I have made of over the years, friendships I have developed, and the professional development I have received would not have occurred had I not embraced what has turned to be a great and fruitful experience.
